Candice Smith
Candice Smith, “Chief 187™”, is a writer, columnist, blogger, and creator of the widely successful Chief 187™ Chatter.
A card-carrying member of the National Motorsports Press Association (NMPA) two years running, Candice has covered NASCAR for three seasons. She has attended both second Pocono and Homestead as official NASCAR media in 2012.
Candice is the creator and host of “Drafting the Circuits” which airs every Wednesday night at 9pm ET onhttp://DraftingtheCircuits.WhooBazoo.com . It is re-broadcast on the Performance Motorsports Network. Drafting the Circuits is available on iTunes. On that program she and her panel discuss the racing stories of the week from IndyCar and Formula 1 to NASCAR. Guests are a part of the show and represent what is going on in racing across the country from local venues to the top tiers of the sports the show covers.
In 2013 guests on Drafting the Circuits have included Joe Nemechek, Shawna Robinson, Jennifer Jo Cobb, Larry McReynolds, Dr. Jerry Punch, and Beaux Barfield.
Drafting the Circuits as a site was launched in 2013 and quickly filled up with Candice’s original articles centering on the world of NASCAR. Her work is a weekly feature on Jayski. Shortly after launch Candice hired writers to file their original work about series ranging from IndyCar to Formula 1, NHRA to many other series.
Candice is also co-host of “Burning Rubber Radio” which airs on the Performance Motorsports Network. There Candice interviews NCWTS drivers, ARCA drivers, and other local heroes in racing.
Candice files an on-air NASCAR report on the program “Heels on Wheels” which airs on the Performance Motorsports Network. She is also called on to interview female drivers and other women involved in racing of all kinds.
Candice’s original column “Why I Love NASCAR by Chief 187™” has been featured on Skirts and Scuffs for its third consecutive season and is a weekly feature on Jayski.
Candice also writes an original column at Motorsports Unplugged for a second season where her work appears alongside veteran NASCAR journalist Steve Waid. Her work is a weekly feature on Jayski.
In addition to NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Recaps and Friday Music Blogs, Chief 187™ has posted many articles based on interviews with drivers, musicians and MMA fighters.
