What kind of racing will we see at Talladega?

NASCAR has made it very hard for drivers to draft tight together in the two-car tango that became the quickest way to race. But every time it throws a rule at these teams the smart crew chiefs figure out a way to beat the new system.

This weekend Mother Nature is teaming up with NASCAR and plans to give the teams the steamiest weather for a restrictor plate since the advent of the two-car tango. Will we see the tango or a pack polka this weekend?

Certain drivers have struggled with the two-car tandem. Dale Earnhardt Jr used to be super strong at Talladega but the two-car draft has slowed him down. On the flipside Clint Bowyer has been great since the advent of the two-car draft with wins in the fall races at Talladega.

Sure, both guys are still solid picks even if the style of racing isn’t the style they like but this week it pays to hedge your bets. Take a few guys that are strong in the two-car draft and a few guys that are better pack racers. That is the recipe for success this week no matter if NASCAR drivers tango or polka.
